This four star rating is purely for the guava green tea which is not an official item on their menu. You will need to order in person and ask for it. Personally, I'd go for 0% sugar since the syrup already has sweetness to it. If you want HK milk tea, go to HK Tea on Dessau.
I've been to Gen years ago because I was attracted to the beautiful picture of the artichoke drink with the pandan leaf, agar boba, herbal jelly, and chia seed. My trip in 11/2024, the cups are no longer plastic so I can't admire the beauty that is the composition of this drink and it does take away that experience for me. It's located in the Chinatown area of Austin and there are so many food and drink selections in this center. This shop is always consistently busy and I love the selection, albeit, I've always ordered the artichoke drink. Parking is plentiful so no stress there.
Got a matcha latte with boba and it was amazing!!! I love that they have nondairy milk options and I love that you can adjust the sweetness to your liking!! The portion sizes are so good too esp for the price!!
I love Gen bobabee! This go-to Vietnamese coffee/boba shop is a great spot to hang out and try a wonderful selection of drinks with high quality teas and coffee. The drinks are delicious, the service is friendly and efficient, and the ambiance is cozy and inviting! :)
The fruit teas are pretty good, I would avoid the milk teas For the fruit teas you cannot adjust the sugar so everything is a bit sweet. I would say pricing wise the value is not the best. As Austin gets more boba places the supply demand should hopefully balance that out. If you're in the area it's a solid option. I would say HKTea and ChiCha San Chen are better
